SINGAPORE – April 9, 2026
BIPO, a leading global payroll and HR solutions provider, joined more than 200 industry leaders at the TAC Summit 2026 to drive the next wave of enterprise growth and sector transformation. Organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel from April 8–9, the two-day summit serves as a central platform for Singapore’s Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs) to foster cross-border collaboration, share operational best practices, and explore scalable digital opportunities in today’s interconnected global economy.
Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, attended as the guest of honour, emphasising the need for a collective approach and shared resilience in addressing economic challenges.
Albert Liew, BIPO’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia, addressed these challenges during a panel titled “Digital-Ready People, People-Ready Tech: Building TACs for the Next Transformation Curve.” Moderated by Professor Annie Koh, the session also featured panelists Lim Quan Heng, Eileen Tan, and Nicholas Lee.
Speaking to the operational realities of industry associations, Liew noted that TACs face the same structural and scaling challenges as traditional businesses. He urged leaders to audit internal workflows before investing in digital tools.
“Tools exist for organisations of all sizes, from SMEs to multinationals,” Liew said. “The priority must be mapping out specific tasks so that the technology adopted actually aligns with operational needs.”
Addressing the integration of artificial intelligence in workforce management, Liew reframed the current narrative around automation. “AI is essentially a compression of time, not a replacement for expertise,” Liew stated. “While automation can absorb a significant volume of routine tasks, critical decisions still require human judgment. AI should be viewed as an evolving layer of automation that enhances productivity rather than replaces human roles.”
As regional industry groups look toward 2030, the summit highlighted a clear consensus: transformation is driven by a strategic, people-centric approach to technology, where adoption is guided by clear purpose.
